Sibyl Browne papers, 1912-1979.

Correspondence, classroom material, notebooks, financial papers, legal documents, printed material, scrapbooks, and photographs relating to Browne's professional and personal activities, particularly her work as an art instructor at Newark State Teachers College (1933-1943), the University of Georgia at Athens (1949-1957), and the State University of New York at Buffalo (1958), and following her retirement, her association with the San Antonio Conservation Society, and her involvement in a campaign to block construction of an express highway through San Antonio. Also includes papers of Browne's mother, Hetty Sibyl Turnipseed Browne (1875-1966) pertaining to her work as an educator at Winthrop College in Rock Hill, S.C., and at the River Road Country Day School in San Antonio, Tex. (1926-1930).
